Dave has 25 years operational and leadership experience in both the public and private sectors.

Working closely with scientists, engineers, community groups, councils (both the ORC and DCC), consultants, businesses and the University of Otago, he excels at maintaining positive relations with people of all backgrounds.

Dave has an excellent range of engineering and scientific skills, with experience in having managed multiple short- and long-term multi-million-dollar projects. While contracting, Dave understands the importance of delivering what the client requires on time and to budget.

He also has a great deal of experience in environmental monitoring, tendering and technical report writing, asset management, contract preparation and strategic planning, along with a sound understanding and knowledge of the principals of sustainable environmental management and resource efficiency.

Dave is also a recognized SQEP. He has significant experience in contaminated sites and their remediation.

His experience extends to consent preparation including assessing environmental effects (AEE) through to presenting at hearings and the Environment Court.

Privately, Dave owns 2 significant heritage buildings in Dunedin consequently has expertise in building project and property management.

Mike is, amongst other things, an outstanding strategic thinker.

One of Mike’s key strengths is the ability to write technical reports in a way that is comprehensible and readable.

With over 20 years of experience as an environmental scientist and leading community engagement programs targeted towards reducing the risk associated with natural hazards, he has undertaken a diverse range of environmental investigation and assessment work for local government and commercial organisations.

Mike has a highly pragmatic approach to problem solving, and has some useful experience communicating technical information to a range of different audiences.

Mike has experience in the management of projects, contracts and staff, having previously worked as a manager at the Otago Regional Council (ORC). He works effectively as part of a team, individually, or as a project leader, and he strives to deliver excellent outcomes for his customers.
